There is zero reason that the denver vs UMKC game could not have been played at UMKC other than being bullied by the Dakotas. Has the administration even brought this up? I don’t think there are many alternatives to this when it comes to conference tournaments. We’d be playing in an empty Orleans Arena if we were still in the WAC, and we’d be playing in an empty arena in Indianapolis if we joined a conference such as the Horizon League. Then the administration needs to schedule empty neutral site games. The team literally has sucked for 30 years at shooting when no one is in the stands. Also, the MVC does have more fans in STL and probably would get more roo fans to show up.

There are at least five reasons... One is the location of the league office. There is absolutely no chance of them allowing tournament games in Kansas City. St. Louis would be a decent compromise, but we're in the wrong conference for that.

They need Denver, UMKC, Ohmaha, Oral Roberts or they don't have a qualifier. Western Illinois, IPFW showed the path. Dakotas don't paly ball leave or form our own conference. Its time for leadership.

The problem with that is the Missouri Valley is a step above the Summit League and won’t entertain interest from us until we either make the NCAA Tournament or heavily invest in the program (e.g. new arena). Look, I get the frustration of another season ending too soon, but the crowd sizes aren’t the issue here. Playing Kansas, Baylor, and Colorado State prepares us for conference play better than any neutral site would, and we get those anyways when you play in an MTE. If we’re being perfectly honest, the crowds at our conference tournament games aren’t that much bigger than some WAC or Summit League regular season games over the years. That’s more-or-less what you’ll find across most tournaments for the mid-majors. We just need to put together 40 minutes of good basketball.

We didn't shoot the ball well in Vegas or fort wayne. Now South Dakotas. Scoring and shooting % is way down in every tournament game we have played over 30 years. you don't lose this many games as a 2 or 3 seed.

The location of the tourney doesn't bother me that much. The ACC tourney is almost always in North Carolina, the Big East Tourney is on St. John's pseudo home court at MSG. Unfortunately, the Roos don't have enough fans willing to trek to South Dakota this time of year (myself included). I have to say that the arena looks really nice, but we laid an absolute egg!

The roos have not scored 70 points in a Summit League Tournament game since 2003. Fix that how ever you can, but if we don't next year we should leave. Sometimes you don't shoot well in a particular gym. If its the most important game we need to stop wasting money, resource and time and leave.

I’d like to go cheer for the Roos at the Summit tourney, but it’s hard to do when we are so continuously disappointing and losing first round games. I can’t justify spending the time and money if I am basically throwing it away with one game and out.
Time will tell if the Roos can turn the corner in a game that is dominated by transfers and NIL.

Someday, UMKC should hire the architect of the Denny Sanford Premier Center and build an exact replica of that venue down by Whole Foods. That would be money well spent

Well this was a good season on the whole. The program looks to be in good hands. I hadn’t been excited like this for a game in a while. If we can keep our team together, the incoming commits by all accounts are supposed to be very good. The Denver loss was heartbreaking last night, in the light of day I’m already looking at the bright side. Thank you guys for keeping the fan forum a daily must check!!! #rooup

Too much concern about where tournament games are played. Good teams win anywhere.
Of course we are, in fact, preparing to build a new arena near Whole Foods. It may not be a spectacular architectural masterpiece, but I think we'll like it.

I haven’t seen anything since they said they were re-evaluating the scope of the project.

Their new arena is the highest pie-in-the-sky dream for a mid major.

Kansas City is 1-3 in the summit league vs the spread since rejoining we are losing on average 10.5 points against the spread mark, that would be bottom 20 in nation.
For example we were 5-5 in the wac with -1.5 pt vs spread.
Having Tournament Games in South Dakota is a big big problem. We are way underperforming billion dollar algos that are extremely accurate.
You could also argue that Swinney is preparing us less for the most important games than Muni did as that is a similar time period.
