One rating service calls him #45 JUCO player in the nation. I don’t think we have ever recruited someone ranked so high.

What I find interesting about these last two recruiting cycles is that Menzies is hitting the JUCO portal hard after being known for having an eye for international talent. He had a solid strategy of developing guys over 3-4 years (see: Pascal Siakim), but the problem today is that it’s hard to retain a player for that long. Instead of looking for the hidden gems overseas, he’s cashing in at the JUCO level… they’re a little more polished and able to contribute immediately while still having high ceilings. I like it.

This is real question. The way he brought in all the international talent year 1 made it seem like that was what we were going to see. Anyone know why coach shifted strategies?

Welcome Josh Ijeh 6’10 post from Casper Juco where he averaged 8.7 points and rebounds while playing 26 minutes a game. Long athletic post who has 102 career blocks. The Roos have increased their depth by adding another post player. Recruiting the Juco players has been the focus the last 2 years. I hope it pays off and the Roos win the Summit League!
