I was hoping this meant the end of NIL. Unfortunately, it actually strengthens it.
The NCAA has been instituting new rules to aid the big "important" schools for years. BCS, football playoffs where the teams are hand-picked, NIL, transfers without penalty, etc. and now they're losing control. This whole thing is going to get worse before it gets better. And it's going to get worse and worse for schools like UMKC.

I think the new NIL rules are that there are no rules… we need to get whatever donors we have to create a package to keep Faas. I’d suspect quite a few big schools will be reaching out to him.

I really hope that NIL doesn’t create a few super schools that are able to literally buy the best talent with yearly player transfers. MBB might need a Division 1A if things escalate out of control.. It would be an unfortunate end result for college basketball if so.
I could see teams wanting Faas for his shooting. Wouldn’t Jarmar Brown be the hotter commodity? Getting first team all conference appears to be a good indication that a player will be moving to a Power 5 school.

Both Faas and Brown will have opportunity to play in Power 5 teams because teams value great 3 point shooters. The Summit League has lost 3-4 players a year to Power 5 teams and the number will increase as teams value experienced players over freshman players! Players with2-3 years experience, 3 point shooters, big 6’8 and above, and scoring guards will always be valued!
