We drew them for our first round matchup in the Nassau Championship Tourney and they very well might be one of the best teams we play all season. They defeated #14 Arkansas last week and nearly beat Vanderbilt before that. This is a team that might very well win the SoCon this season… thoughts on the matchup?
Perhaps we catch them off-guard coming off their upset high. We looked a little better against CSU than Baylor. Hopefully we can bring it all together and start attacking the defense more in order to get shooters open.

UncG can shoot the 3 ball well 38% on the season. They made 9 3 pointers against Arkansas on the road while shooting 37%. They have several guys listed as senior and graduate seniors which means they are experienced at D1 level. The Roos were able to beat Toledo last year which I would say is a comparable team to UNCG. It will take Kopp, Brown, and some one else to score the ball and dominate the boards.

Good luck tomorrow Kangaroos from a UNCG Spartan here.
Players to look out for are the Langley twins at guard and Brown-Jones in post. Our other big, Breath, is young and still learning but is physically strong. Our SF Donovan Atwell is a pure shooter but has been up amd dowm so far this season but is only a Soph.
Heres to a well officiated game and again good luck!

41-30 UNCG at the half.
Roos shows heart and effort. We are shooting better from 3, but not slowing down UNCG who are 50% from 3 and 60% overall.
Offense is a little clunky, and most of our shots are difficult. A guy like Shemarri Allen would have made all the difference for our team.
Point Guard play still needs to improve. Malik probably has the best physical abilities there, but it looks like he needs to slow down. Interesting that Ngandu is not seeing the court. He was a beast last year.

UNCG with a 76-64 win.
Roos played better this game, but have several areas to improve upon. However, several encouraging signs of our potential! UNCG (coming off a win against Arkansas) is just a better team…at this point.

Faas 18 points with 6-7 from 3 point line! Impressive! Brown 13 points and 10 rebounds! Kopp 13 points, the rest of the returners need to pick it up! Keep getting Petty minutes for next season. Good luck tomorrow!
