For me, the livestream was buffering so badly that I couldn't watch it. Did anyone else have issues?

It was horrible. I had to stop watching. I don’t remember having this issue when we were producing our own content. Terrible first impression made by MidcoSports. Would not be surprised if the Dakota schools broadcasts were without glitch. KC is going to get the short end of the stick with this Summit League led media agreement.

Would have loved to give thoughts on game, but Midco was such garbage, I was unable to watch for more than 5 seconds at a time

I had the same experience. It would freeze and buffer constantly. The largest loss of time I noticed was 11 second of game time but then I stopped paying attention. I hope they get it fixed soon that was hard to watch.

Awful production! I could not even figure out who the starting line up was because of all the buffering issues. The only time the screen was not buffering was during the commercials. I never had issues like this last year on the Roos network! Everyone needs to email the Summit League network because that was a horrible product!

I got on the MidcoSports website and sent a message letting them know about the stream quality last night. I let them know it wasn't an isolated issue.

I had the same issues. However, the issue is likely on Kansas City's end. Here's why:
1. I could stream any other live game last night without issue. I tried ~3 other basketball games and they were flawless. 2. All replay games could be streamed for any team EXCEPT Kansas city. I tried for volleyball, basketball, etc.
Just thought I would share. I hope this gets fixed

So you are telling me that I paid MidcoSports, reset my password @ Midco, logged into the Midco account and tried to watch a game that was buffering all night and it is not Midco’s issue or responsibility? If I am paying Midco for access, I expect Midco to be able to provide what I purchased, whether or not Midco did not have issues elsewhere. No doubt, I am pleased that the Dakota schools did not have any issues with their broadcast.

This is what I got from Midco.
"Since our team only handles issues with the payment and access processing, please get in touch with the publisher of the content directly, via content-related issue email or contact info provided on the content webpage."

A few impressions on the game:
Our offense was clunky in the first half. It cleaned up in the 2nd half, and hopefully will improve as guys get more comfortable with each other.
Jamar Brown is going to be good. A very good, all-around player that does a lot of different things. He will be dangerous in Conference. He has the tools to fill the void of Shemarri Allen.
Cameron Faas spreads the floor with a nice shot, and will battle on defense and rebounding.
Anderson Kopp - nice to see him back. He will get better as he shakes off the rust, and will be a good combination with Jamar.
Malik Olafioye didnt play much, but it was amazing just to watch how smooth and quick he is. He is certainly not afraid at all to be a big contributor on the court.
Not sure what to think of the Point Guard play from our grad transfers. They looked fine, but not sure what to expect this year. Maybe their biggest impact is in leadership at this time.

No doubt, I am pleased that the Dakota schools did not have any issues with their broadcast. Midco is not producing the feeds. If UMKC is using terrible/outdated equipment to broadcast and produce the feed, Midco cannot make it work. One could argue that Midco should not OFFER low-quality broadcasts, but that is a different point. I wish it worked too! I watched that terrible buffering as well! My point is that we might be in for a whole season of this if the issue truly is with Kansas City broadcasts. Maybe the Dakota schools can help us?

I filled out the contact form for midcon sports to report this issue this morning. Midcon sports quickly emailed back and said to contact the summit league network because “our[midcon sports plus] team only handles issues with the payment and access processing”
So I did, I just forwarded the email to Commissioner Fenton. Commissioner Fenton nearly instantly responded. He says it seems the issue was the network at Swinney and that it should be corrected.
To be honest the responses were extremely timely and very professional.

I will have to take people at their word. It is hard to imagine that the KC broadcast crew is now having significant issues with the buffering, when they haven’t had these issues in recent memory. But anything is possible. I can only hope this is fixed by Saturday. It does not help attract a following when the buffering issue makes the broadcast unwatchable.

Hello all.... the same people who have been producing the Roos for the last 20 years are producing it now. The content is being sent to a new platform of Midco Sports plus. It was a tough night. I have talked to some of my contacts there and I know they are all on this problem and should have it fixed. Unfortunately, those that produce the content can't see the problems that are downstream of them... but do know that everyone is aware and working on the problem.

Talked with the production crew. They have tested the path and it works cleanly now. The Roos have been producing in 1080p the past few years and had to drop back to 720p for the Midco plus platform. The roos had also been producing at 60 frames a second which makes better slo mo... and now have dropped it back to 30.... all these little adjustments must be loaded into the fancy pants encoder so it does not overwhelm the Midco Platform and cause buffering. The 720p and 30 frame rate is a lower standard but it is a standard that can be met by all schools without causing extra expense. I have had to pay up to 12.95 for a single game in the past so looking forward to a one stop shop
