Just saw a tweet.
Are the coaches still out recruiting or are they vacationing?

This one hurts. No way we can find someone as good as Shemarri, and to make matters worse…he didn’t even count against our scholarship limit due to his COVID year.
We have a chance to have a special team next year. This must be an NIL related move?
On the good side of things, Timothy Barnes now sees that there is a path to find playing time, and JUCO signee Jamar Brown will get a chance to provide an instant impact.

Awful news! He is the leader and most experienced guard on the roster. The defense was good and his scoring really improved this year as his 3 point shooting improved. Tough this late in the recruiting process to find and replace 2 starting guards. RayQ is a loss but Shemarri is tougher to replace as an all conference player and all defensive team! Hopefully some good guards are coming quickly!

This has real impact... but we do have some addition by subtraction since we never had a point guard on the floor... Shemmari, if he improves as much this year as last will get some NBA looks.... played his ass off... best thing in his career was running into Marv and staying.

Do we have any indication as to where he ends up? Looks like there’s a few big names associated with him, such as Penn State.

Some reports on the following with interest in Shemarri Florida NC State Minnesota Mississippi State Penn State UCF Charleston Richmond Hofstra Robert Morris Western Kentucky SIU UTEP New Mexico State
Shemarri is VERY good, and I am sure that he has more interest than this. If not, id like to think there is a small chance that he will return to KC? But perhaps since he went into the portal we would lose the COVID scholarship waiver on him… and we wouldn’t have a scholarship available.
Using Brandon McCissic as a comparison: Mpg. Ppg. Rpg. Apt Year 4 Roos. 34 17 3.7 3.3 Year 5 Florida. 24 5.8 2.5 1.8

Committed to UCF today. He will be in a tough basketball conference, he better be working on his 3 point shooting! His ball handling and great defense will be missed by the Roos. Good luck!

This is a big loss for us. Strong to the basket , improved shooting, and outstanding defense. A new point guard would have made him even better in KC.
He gave us 2 good years, and especially stepped up last year. Wishing the best for Shemarri! Always a good guy!
