Maybe the reason we don't feel the need to recruit by position for PG is that we think we may already have the answer on the team.
Twice now from staff, I have heard great things about Glasgow... like he could be an answer... they talked shooting, intuition , leadership.
Jalen Carter we know is very book smart and he sure looks like he could be a player and comments are that he has come a long way the second half of the season.
The last is Timothy Barnes... we have seen him before but we know players like AK and Shemarri are MUCH better under Menzies and staff.... could this be another one where we had a point guard but did not need him since we had Gilyard and Sam already in place... who knows but it is exciting to contemplate... we see now that depth and quality of roster is so important... having a few good players that can compete at the highest level of the conference is good to achieve... but then the second 5 needs to be an upper half of the conference skill wise as well.
Take shots, make shots, be fearless... otherwise an empty uniform. We had times at the end of the season that the twins never really got guarded since we all knew they would not shoot... then play 5 on 4 against the rest... even though BaBa can't shoot well, he will launch that baby and make people guard him.... so bring in confidence. As for the freshmen... Jeff is on the way to be career shotblocker and rebounder by not even improving, Jevin has a n arsenal that is improving and his confidence is getting up there with his athletic ability, and Tyler could be quite the pro... looking at the 20 and 10 game he had at year end which was not even smooth or comfortable for him... so look out as this comes together.
All the new guys just shoot their way onto the floor... easiest thing to evaluate.
