This cut and paste is from an article in the New York Times dated 01/22/23
"When Masiello was fired, he was not the only one who exited. Perez transferred to West Virginia, but the N.C.A.A. denied his request for a waiver to be eligible immediately. Also leaving were guard Omar Silverio, a transfer from Hofstra, who plans to play next season at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, according to his former youth coach, Cory Underwood, and forward Samba Diallo, a key reserve who remains at Manhattan working on a graduate degree."
6-3, 200 lbs, would have been a senior this season, his 2021-22 stats are 10.9 pts 3.3 rebounds 35.8% 3ptrs and 91.9 FT.

Looks like a very good player, and will certainly be experienced and physically mature. Next year would his 6th in college, and be his 4th team. He was unable to transfer this year when his Coach was let go early in the season. Rhode Island, Hofstra, Manhatten, and possibly KC? Attached is a link to him scoring 40 points in a game for Hofstra in 2022. m.youtube.com/watch?v=MarvIMprRec

Yes please! This team needs a true point guard to facilitate the ball and run the offense. Would help bolster Allen and Mitchell’s games immensely.

He's not shy about taking shots, is he?

He's not shy about taking shots, is he? That’s another good point… would be great to have another shot creator on this team. Hopefully this comes to fruition.

Could Silverio and Michell coexist? When is the last time we got to say anything close to this? If we can keep this together, boy o boy!

Could Silverio and Michell coexist? Initially, I thought a small-ball lineup with Mitchell on the wing could be interesting. However, (assuming Kopp returns) I think the best solution would be to have a three-guard rotation that has two of them on the floor at all times.

Omar committed to West Virginia today. He can play if. Bob Huggins is recruiting him to play in the Big 12. Guard is not a huge need for the Roos with Shemarri and Ray Q both returning. I am hoping that Barnes is healthy because I like his athleticism and potential.

Silverio’s teammate at Manhattan and great friend had already signed with West Virginia, so they must have found an open scholarship for Omar also. I am thinking we will be very good with just growth and development of our current roster. If we could add anything, I’d like it to be someone like an Evan Gilyard. A player like him would be huge for this team. Another shooter to compliment Kopp would also be helpful.

We need a distribution guard very much.....not good offense for us.... dribbling around is not a good offense... we don't move the ball and break down the defense... real PG can get that done... then Ray Q and Shemarri can slash and shoot as they like... we are terrible at passing into the post and a PG will help with that... need to get the ball to big guys on time and in rhythm ... our current guys don't see that... It will be key for us to take the next steps. I love shemarri and RayQ but they are out of position.
