Although there has been no recommittment tweet like Maker Bar and Cole Glasgow, this tweet came from @kcroosmbb. Good luck to future Roo, Jevin Sullivan, as he participates in Long Jump, Distance Medley and 4x400 at the Iowa State Track Championships this weekend. Roo Nation is cheering you on! I guess we can assume Jevin Sullivan is coming to Kansas City. Here is the roster I come up with (so far) Sam Martin Hidde Roessink Anderson Kopp Goodnews Kpegeol Babacar Diallo Cole Glasgow Maker Bar Jevin Sullivan Allen Mukeba Logan Mukeba That makes 10. I am also aware of the 7'2" HS Senior from CA. He had no other offers, so I imagine he may be a non scholarship redshirt. I've noticed that both Shemarri Allen and Timothy Barnews are followed by 2 of the new assistants on Twitter and Timothy Barnes is following Coach Menzies. Make of that what you will. Attachments:

I am gonna bet that if these guys don't have the look and feel of a D1 athlete.. they will probably have to walk on to show what they have to offer... New Mexico State used to be un trackable before with 18 or 19 guys on the roster... lots of flexible stuff...

It is exciting to see the new roster develop. I have to admit the program appears to be advancing to another level under Coach Menzies and staff. Mukeba and Dimou especially look to be great additions!
It looks like we still need a veteran point guard, a scorer, and another 4-5 that can play right away. I am not confident that Hidde can stay healthy, so I would like more depth there. The 6’5” Freshman, Rashad King, still indicates on his Twitter that he is coming to KC!

I just looked again... I was super excited about him before... If he continues to stay with us... would be the best freshman for us since Reggie Hamilton... If by a miracle you kept him with the kid from Greece for 4 years... off the hook! because they are both already quite smart players..... King... righty, lefty, hops, vision, eurostep, jump stop, might even be able to shoot... but that is a wide arsenal for an 18 year old... Greek kid already plays like he is 30. I just can't see that miracle happening though. OOPS.... I am talking about Rashad King.

I'm wondering how much the new staff will focus on local kids. We haven't had much success on that front in recent years...the kids we have recruited locally haven't stayed long for the most part.
I do like the prospect of focusing on international recruits.
I think in the current college landscape recruiting will be more important than ever and at the low and mid major levels it's going to be almost like recruiting for a juco where half of your roster turns over annually unless the one time free transfer rule is changed.

I am not confident that Hidde can stay healthy... If he is still unable to run, would it be ethical to give his scholarship to someone else?

Division 1 college basketball and ethics are not a common combination.

The Roos should continue to recruit guards from K.C. Day, Watson, Martez, all greats from K.C. There have been others from the area but there is pretty of good D1 players in the area. With Watson and Day b oth coaching AAU basketball you need to use their connections to keep some players home! Recruit the height from Africa and other international countries.

Roos have to start over in Kc with each new coach. I think another huge thing in town is that former coach Jason Sautter is coaching AAU in town... pretty cool. He has no grudges and could help us get guys... he has a huge JUCO connection that should probably be tapped but doubt the new coaches know him.

Sam Anderson Shemarri 1 Barnes 3 Rashad 2 Dimou 1 Allen Kukeba 5 Logan Mukeba Babacar Diallo 4 Maker Bar Goodnews I guess if the 7-2 guy can weigh 220 by enrollment... let him have a spot although I regret it... Doubt Hidde returns since I think we would have heard something... Then get a 60 year old point guard

I think this is a great strategy. We have never had luck keeping local players with height in KC. We have some great young guards in KC. Would be fun if we could sign them and surround them with talent!
