Looks like to be competitive we need to come up with money for Name-Image= and likeness for athletes... the fund for LSU is 80 million with half going to football 10 percent going to men's hoop and the rest for the other athletes... good. Mid majors may be coming up with $50k for very good players.... I have an idea.... find a non-profit that could use spokesmen for their cause... staying in school, go vote, kiss your mom, etc... we donate to that specific thing and 90%a goes to player for participating... find 1000 people to donate.... that can get us to the top quicker than building a building... I will continue looking into this.

I agree, and I believe we are actually at an advantage when it comes to NIL due to being the only D1 school in a major U.S. city. If our athletic department hasn’t already been making inroads with KC businesses and institutions, we’re several steps behind the competition.
Take advantage of one of the few advantages we have and make the most of it! Lean into that “Kansas City” identity and get these guys on billboards, commercials, and sponsored social media posts! Heck, reach out to UMKC alums in the community and see what their organization has to offer. In the ever-changing collegiate landscape, innovation is key!

the athletic department can have nothing to do with NIL.... it is against NCAA rules... nothing can be shown about UMKC... so it must come from us.

I don't know how NIL works, but I would talk to someone at Hy-Vee. They are big into public relations, advertising, and community involvement. I know they have various programs addressing food insecurity.

the athletic department can have nothing to do with NIL.... it is against NCAA rules... nothing can be shown about UMKC... so it must come from us. You’re correct, I should’ve worded that better. I was thinking of the the strategy Texas A&M and other schools have implemented for football recruiting. Their staff and athletic department develop relations with boosters and members of the business community that become a “proxy” for their recruiting. Then, the proxy reaches out to the player and offers a NIL sponsorship with the assumption that the player attends their school. The deals are spread out over the course of two-three years to prevent a player from taking the money and transferring after a year. Like I said, we should have a strategic advantage due to our location but we (and other mid-majors) are already behind the bigger schools on how they operate.

I found a not for profit to work with today... the plan will be for the players to provide a service for the non profit and then be compensated.. a donation to the non profit can be earmarked for this program with 90% going to player and 10% to non profit. Program will center on the main American fact: Finish High school No children until marriage No Marriage until age 25 98% guarantee of not living in poverty
