Dajoin Humphrey 6’4 guard from Garden City CC received a Roo offer. He is averaging 19 points a game, while shooting 46% from the field and 43% from 3 point line! He has a similar build to Ray Q and is a proven scorer with experience (45 D1 games played). He played 2 years at Holy Cross prior to going Juco. He averaged 6 points a game while playing in 29 games his second season at HC. He has a handful of offers from other D1 teams. He and Shemarri would be a nice set of guards to go with are young post players.

FWIW, Even though Ray Q is a grad student, I believe he does have another year of eligibility after this year. We do need another guard. When Ray Q and Shemarri have scoring issues, it lets teams like North Dakota and Green Bay beat us.

I would agree, Rooinblue. I was also told that everyone can return next year. Perhaps Shemarri and Ray won’t hit our 23/24 scholarship limit if they return as “super seniors” using their COVID year.

RayQ and Shemarri are working on their Change of pace... the 3pt/layup combo needs some spice with pitch out, lobs, runners, pull up, floaters, etc... as that evolves we may end up with best of both worlds.

That is great news if Ray Q has another season of eligibility left. He and Shemarri have really impressed me with their scoring and toughness in league play. The Roos should be one of the better teams in the Summit League with Mad Max leaving after this season to go pro. The future is very bright! 😎😎

I hope we are able to retain the core of this group, but beware of mid major vultures coming to pick over the flesh of a young kangaroo team with little tradition.
