Watched this game on ESPN+ with a couple buddies after class. A few thoughts…
- You can tell we’re the third-youngest team in D1. Offense is still very sloppy, too many forced jumpers and not finding the extra pass. Ball handling is as advertised. - Did a great job with entry passes (there were a few nice finishes as well) and we did a decent job collecting boards. - The defense played good enough to give us a shot to win on the other end. Against a team like LSU, I guess that’s all you can ask for. - Allen played great on both ends, though he was a bit careless at times. Single-handily kept us in the game in the second half. We’ll need him to be an “instant spark” kind of guy, particular from the perimeter, if we are to be competitive this season.
Overall, good showing against a Power 5 program. Did not expect this after Monday night’s loss. Time to regroup and bring the same effort against Illinois.

Eveedrything was better tonight.... Promise got a lot of boards but he was in a fog, passing up shots everywhere... BUT we had a 3 in the air and down 6 with about 4 minutes to go and another shot the next possession... We did not get out athleted although LSU has a couple studs that were a pleasure to watch... #44 and #3 #44 kinda has a little gut goin.... like Pat Mahomes but a great hand/eye athlete. Shemarri did not make a 3 last year I believe and his reluctance to shoot cost us the Lincoln game as his guy planted both feet in the paint when he was on the 3 pt. line..... We coulda easily won.... pretty cool... and huge improvement. Going against an $8 million NIL team.... $80mil per year at LSU... $40mil football, $8mil men's hoop and the others split the rest..

Much better effort on defense and rebounding the ball. The offense will have difficulty scoring until Kopp is healthy. He is the only consistent 3 point shooter that I have seen on this team. A healthy Barnes will also help on the offensive side of the ball. Allen played well but remember he only reached double digits scoring a few times last season. His strength is to play defense and handle the ball.

Or is he taking a medical redshirt?

That was quite a turn around.
I didn't watch the game but I followed the live stats. It got exciting towards the end.
Offense is still an issue. Everything else seemed much better.

if you watch Menzies post game... no whining about Kopp... and is allowing his young team to develop... but wants them to do it fast.
