Hey guys, the Roos are having a fundraiser. One of my work buddies of 30 years was invited over to Coach Menzies for a meeting. It appears we are having a fundraiser on Oct. 26. It cost $200 per person and $250 for VIP.... I told him to mark me down for $500 for me and my wife. Gonna have an auction as well... I can get you to the guy that is aware of the details.... apparently at a nice Plaza location. Lets raise a couple bucks for these guys....

Is there an announcement coming from the program? Is this a private fundraiser?

It is a private fundraiser just by the basketball team.... they have not made the written invitations yet... they are limiting to 150 guys.... My company bought a table of 10.... proud of them.

I except a detailed report from the Dunkers Club with the coaching staff tonight! I have to work tonight and will not be able to attend. Go Roos!

I went but I have seen the team... how did the rest of you like it... it was a dunk show for the fans... then the players mixed with the people... more lob slams than the world has seen in awhile... and nobody got hurt showing off. I introduced players to my guest and he loved it.

I attended the event, and it made me the most excited for an upcoming season and future of the program than ever before.
Some feedback:
1. In terms of quantity, it was by far the most impressive array of height, talent, and character that i have ever seen in a Roos program. 2. Opinion from a very respected Roo on the program: "We are already better than last year's team".....which i thought was a huge compliment. He then proceeded to provide several excited minutes of discussing our talent and what we are capable of. It was stunning to hear some of his feedback. 3. A team leader told me this is the first time that he has been on a team where everybody gets along so well. They are all friends, and its a testament to the culture. 4. We have very talented Freshman that are going to play this year, and contribute a lot. 5. Watching Mukebe, Jevin Sullivan, and Shemarri throwing down multiple violent slams was impressive! 6. The Coaching staff are very friendly, and the goals are clearly to achieve great things. 7. Staff suggesting we can compete for the Summit title this year. 8. IMO, once we start winning, showing what we can do, and bring in larger donors..... i may not get invited to so many events in the future. lol! ..and that's okay.
Rooup!!!

34... I was amazed talking to the kids... they are so mature... well educated and erudite. It is going to be a pleasure watching these guys go... and since they are solidly based... maybe can keep their heads about them.... the title for this first season is "Out of Africa"

No offense if you don't fire coaches who are winning you don't need fundraisers. My money is going elsewhere for now.

Its OK Kanga..... we always need fundraisers... This is the team I got... and I am too old for grudges anymore... I might die of natural causes before I make up with them... I do like Marvin better for several reasons... he is trying to build the program and put things in place to do so.... which includes fund raising... I saw the Roos on TV sports 3 times last week as he is trying to cultivate that relationship as well... I have seen snippets of a couple practices... he does let his coaches coach... wish I could see a whole practice or 20.
